What children can practice at each age

These age groups suggest where to begin. Choose what fits your child’s interests and revisit familiar skills whenever they want more practice.

Ages 2–3

Little Steps Realm

Word Island
Listen for familiar sounds, notice letter shapes, and connect words with pictures and everyday objects.
Try it at home

Look at a favorite picture book together. Name one thing your child points to, then pause for a sound, gesture, or word.

Ages 4–5

Curious Trails Realm

Math Island
Count and compare groups, connect number symbols with quantities, and notice patterns.
Memory Island
Remember pictures and places, find pairs, and rebuild a short sequence.
Try it at home

Put a few familiar objects into two groups. Count each group together and ask how your child knows which has more.

Ages 6–8

Big Ideas Realm

Speed Island
Recognize familiar pictures, shapes, and directions. Build accuracy before adding pace.
Focus Island
Find an important detail, follow a rule, and notice when it changes.
Problem Island
Fit shapes, spot patterns, plan routes, and test another idea when the first plan needs a change.
Try it at home

Draw a simple route between two places. Ask your child to explain the steps, then add an obstacle and find a new route together.
